My Journey From Zero To My First Gameplay Trailer/Demo

Genre, Core Gameplay of the Game:
Sensitive combat system: Dash (i-frames), 4-directional Combo, Parry/Counter — rewards for good timing.
Enemy AI with many states: Patrol → Chase → Attack → Hurt; reacts to player behavior.
Clear Parry consequences: Parry success = counterattack + no blood loss; Parry failure = stun, vulnerable to combo.
Currently, after 3 months of effort, Rim Phan, Chat GPT and I have been able to build a Core GamePlay system that aims at a Combat experience with depth, weight, and strategy. You can go to Demo GamePlay to enjoy it. Any support or comment is a motivation, a great joy, and of course a perspective for us to gradually improve this Game.
I am extremely sorry that there are still many shortcomings in the project at the present time. Even the Demo GamePlay version does not have a UI interface... Assets Player, Enemy may not match the surrounding context and the Top - Down Game genre. Because all the Assets were obtained from many free sources, I tried to build them to fit the context as much as possible. However, I hope you can watch the Trailer and Demo GamePlay and experience it, help us with your sincere comments.
The genre I aim for is not an RPG game that involves farming, upgrading stats or abilities. In this world, everyone starts the same, can die the same, the only thing that can help you survive and continue your journey is your understanding of the Combat mechanism, experience and reasonable tactics of each person. The more you learn, the more careful you are, the further you can go.
Story: I will not reveal much, but I can warn you in advance, because the weight of the story and the messages I want to convey will definitely be very dark and heavy, so it will not be suitable for those who are looking for a light entertainment experience. You should consider before entering this world.
Hello everyone, I am Dinh Son Chi, an independent programmer, completely an amateur in the programming industry in general and programming and game development in particular.
The game "Shape Of Deaths" was built and developed by me alone, with a lot of support from the musician and background support Rim Phan (Phan Hoang Hung) and the great help of Chat GPT.
Before I officially started building the first lines of Code for character movement, coming up with ideas for GamePlay and outlining the plot, background... The only experience I had was about 6 months of self-studying Tutorial on Youtube from the Youtube channel Making Game Day, with two simple games similar to classic Mario and a typical normal Zombie Shooter game on the phone. I only have a secondary school diploma in the form of cultural supplement (ie re-study), have not finished high school and have absolutely no programming experience before I started following my heart and deciding the path I will take, as I said earlier, this game is my first project. I also have no talent for painting or the ability to draw or design well, sincerely thank all the painters and artists on the itch.io platform and many other platforms because almost all the resources I have used and will use to develop the Game are asked from these seniors, these talented and dedicated people, I also affirm that, right from the first steps in self-studying programming, Code and designing this first Game, I have asked for the help of Chat GPT for reference and support, I absolutely do not Copy Source and self-study with Chat GPT, learn, refer from many sources to write the Logic in the Game with my brain, enthusiasm and hands. At first, this Game was a completely big idea, perhaps if I were to take myself back to the days of groping and learning from Video Tutorials on Youtube, then, to be honest, I never thought I would have enough perseverance and passion to build a long-term and challenging Game like this, but, from my own perspective: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step", blood, sweat, and tears to convey the story and message that I wanted to convey, it was a completely wonderful experience.
